WHAT are the accomplishments of B. H. Øbama, that he is so insufferably arrogant? I've no use for John Kerry, but at least he {theoretically} put his life on the line, while serving in the U. S. Navy - post-service, he gave full vent to being a jerk, but he at least made the effort.
BHØ, on the other hand, grew up with maybe not a silver spoon, but a comfortable upper middle-class lifestyle, provided by the grandmother he threw under the bus in his first Presidential campaign. He & his 'Choom Gang' seemed to have lived lives of ease in Hawaii - I've never heard/read of his working over summers or after school. We're spoon-fed that he went to Occidental College, then on to various & sundry other institutions of higher learning, though those darn transcripts keep playing hide-&-seek.
Is it a function of today's electronic over-dependence, that he was taken at face value, with never having to prove he was qualified to be dog catcher, much less POTUS? In large part, those of us utilizing these wonders of the Web are at a ............................... disadvantage {?} ......................................... in that, so much of what constitutes our interactions are limited by the boundaries of the Web - meeting people face-to-face, or speaking with them on the telephone, are quickly going the route of the dinosaurs. I'm guilty as anyone, though I have met Bayou Renaissance Man, Old NFO, LawDog, Phlegm Fatale, and quite a few former Marines. What we all have in common, to borrow an idea from Desiderata, is a belief that the U. S. A.., "With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful nation."
God knows our country isn't perfect, but we're a damn sight better than any alternative - and these are not just the jingoist rantings of one who has never experienced life elsewhere - I visited Morocco in '95, we lived in Monterrey, NL, Mexico for 2 1/2 years, and I had the opportunity to visit the FodGuy in the Czech Republic when he was working there for 2 years, was able to experience Prague, Plzen, Graz, Austria, and Munich, Germany. Each country/region has their own charms and customs *I* wouldn't mind incorporating here. But, at the end of the day, HERE, whether in Scranton, or Hershey, or the wilds NNE of Houston, is home.
This rather lengthy {for me} lead-in is to make the point that, this "administration's" current actions/inactions regarding the situation on our southern border are Constitutionally unacceptable. If I had been informed 7 years ago, that our sovereignty as a nation would be for sale, for votes and "cheap labor", I would have told my informant they were crazy.
The Democrats are absolutely loathesome in their pandering and claims of 'inclusiveness' - for anybody under the age of 50, just for sh*ts & giggles, look up the political affiliations of the majority of KKK members.
The RINOs are no better, THEY'RE just pandering to business & industry, for 'cheap labor' - cheap for WHOM? Certainly not for 'regular Americans', who have to foot the bill for housing, food, clothing {underwear, anyone?}, medical care, education, and in many instances, incarceration, for the illegal aliens. "We" will also be subsidizing their enrollment in ØbamaCare. Show me ANY other nation that wins a war, then takes this level of care of those over whom they were victorious - and we DID win the war with Mexico, 'way back in 1836.
To add insult to injury, the illegals are permitted to fly commercially all over the U.S., without anywhere NEAR the level of screening American citizens must undergo, to fly. I wonder what the airlines are doing to preclude paying passengers' contracting lice/scabies/bedbugs, after they've transported the illegals.
Twenty five percent of the 'unaccompanied {illegal alien} minors' are estimated to be coming from Mexico; the rest are {presumptively} from Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador. The majority of adults are from Mexico. They are NOT 'fleeing gangs/violence/drugs/etc.' - they are NOT refugees, unless one considers economics a reason for fleeing. Their loyalty is to their birth nations, NOT to the U.S.A. - is anyone really so obtuse as to believe that coyotes would refuse the very lucrative offers of some who would love to top 9-11?
Then there are the diseases being seen that haven't been seen here in years if not decades. I worry about the FodGuy being exposed to drug-resistant TB, among other pulmonary diseases being allowed full freedom of this country.
There is no excuse for the current state of affairs; it is a slow-motion catastrophe, at least on the scale of hurricane Katrina - and like Nero fiddling while Rome burned, Øbama is off on fundraisers/golfing/whatever.
UPDATE: Also, just 'for the record' - HOW is it that "we" are just now receiving 'travel advisories' re: western coastal areas of Africa, due to the Ebola outbreak; yet when ONE {count'em, ONE} rocket from the Gaza Strip landed near the Tel Aviv airport, the gutless wonders of U.S. 'foreign policy' advised against travel to Israel. Personally, I've about had it with this 'administration's' blaming all & sundry ills on Israel; Israelis are not saints, but dammit, they don't practice the barbarism their "neighbors" do - PREDICTION: The next 9-11 will be heavily stacked with "Palestinians", because even IF Israel were to disappear overnight, they would still blame any/everyone for their miserable existences ..................................... God forbid they take responsibility for their own lives ...................................
Primarily, a place for folks to gather .................. if I {we?} can give you a chuckle, or a bit of hope, GREAT! If I make you think, so much the better ................. and if I encourage you to research for yourselves, to make your own, independent judgments - I will be fulfilled.

I'm confident most who don't rely solely on the MSM,
but are sufficiently intelligent to seek out information/news on their own, have heard of the ISIS recruiting videos - Vlad Tepes has the intestinal fortitude to post one of them, Caliphate releases video of unusual honesty and profound significance.
If the cretins of this "administration" believe these medieval mental midgets "built the fabric of America", there's no hope for our nation ................................... how such utter scum have managed to survive and adapt, with mindsets of the 7th century, in this, the 21st century, is a malignant mystery .................................. I'm concerned that, once they have taken over Syria & Iraq completely, they will then turn their sights on Israel .........................................

Sooooo, seems my hearing is worse than I thought ........................
new job has involved a transfer, since I couldn't hear the alarms going off {to be fair, they're set REALLY low, almost like that 'mosquito' app for cell phones}. GOOD news is, new location is half the distance, with no tolls. ;-) New supervisor apparently received such glowing reports about me that he was ready to hire me, sight unseen, without benefit of an interview. {Yes, ego IS inflated at the moment}.
The FodGuy is getting bored - need to find him artistic outlet - he's WONDERFUL at woodworking, just have to set up the necessary space. ;-)
Weather is still 'iffy' here - we'll have 75-80 degree days, followed by 55-60 degree days.
"Old" company not doing well; hiring youngsters company's insurance won't cover, so Patrol is soon to be a thing of the past. "Preggo", mentioned here before, stopped by to get her old job back - she lives about the same distance I do, with a 2 year old & a newborn to consider, and was apparently unaware of the pay cut - or figures Mom, Dad, siblings & Uncle Sugar will make up any difference ......................................

Have a LOT of "stuff" happening, .............................
but want to give a belated, but very hearty "CONGRATULATIONS !!" to Old NFO, for his book, The Grey Man Vignettes becoming a reality.
Job search time {UGH!} - seems a new comptroller of the corporation we provide security for doesn't like guns {WTH is he doing in TEXAS, then?} - as of 1 April, we are to be unarmed, with a concomitant almost 30% drop in pay. Now, at $14.50/hr., it was kinda worth it to travel 104 miles daily, paying tolls - at $10.50/hr., however, I will be paying THEM for the 'privilege' of working.
In addition {this has all happened in the last 2 weeks}, the FodGuy has been hit with health news that's not good - he has to go on oxygen 24/7. Yes, we are both smokers, but thanks to a manager above the FodGuy, critically necessary air-cleaning units have NOT been installed at a 'new' facility, for over a year, so the FodGuy's lungs are giving up. He is now out on permanent disability. Thank you, giant corporations.
To my beloved, my soul mate, my FodGuy - remember these words always ................................

HOORAY

The U.N. Resolution 2117 lists 21 points dealing with firearms control, but perhaps of most interest is point number 11: “CALLS FOR MEMBER STATES TO SUPPORT WEAPONS COLLECTION, DISARMAMENT ---”
The U.N. Resolution 2117 lists 21 points dealing with firearms control, but perhaps of most interest is point number 11: “CALLS FOR MEMBER STATES TO SUPPORT WEAPONS COLLECTION, DISARMAMENT ---”
HOORAY
- 53-46 vote - The U.S. Senate voted against the U.N.
resolution.
This
is that brief, glorious moment in history
when everyone stands around...reloading.
when everyone stands around...reloading.
Now,
Which 46 Senators Voted to Destroy Us? Well, let their names
become known !! See below .
If you vote in one of the states listed with these 46
“legis..traitors”… vote against
them.
In
a 53-46 vote, the Senate narrowly passed a measure that will stop
the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade
Treaty. The Statement of Purpose from the Bill reads:
"To uphold Second Amendment rights and prevent the United States
from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty."
The U.N. Small Arms Treaty, which has been championed by the Obama
Administration, would have effectively placed a global ban on the
import and export of small firearms. The ban would have
affected all private gun owners in the U.S. and had language that
would have implemented aninternational
gun registry, now get this, on
all private guns and
ammo.
Astonishingly,
46 out of our 100 United States Senators were willing to give away
our Constitutional rights to a foreign
power.
Here
are the 46 senators who voted to give your rights to the

Video you NEED to watch ......................................
via Old NFO, from An Ordinary American - I'm privileged to know a young woman from Ukraine {NOTE: It is NOT proper to refer to it as "The Ukraine"}, who is brilliant and beautiful, one of the kindest young women it's been my pleasure to get to know - I've not had the opportunity to ask her about recent events, but rest assured, I will ..................................................
Some of the older folks among us might remember a movie titled " Z " from 1969; the "authorities" in the video above remind me of the truncheon-wielding "authorities" in " Z ". As Martin Niemöller noted
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me--and there was no one left to speak for me.

So, right now, I'm a little bit high from
prescription hydrocodone cough syrup ............................. beginning ~ Tuesday, I was feeling like a case of impending bronchitis - took off work & went to doctor yesterday {our regular doc pulled up stakes & headed to one of the Carolinas, for his wife's sake, per office staff}, new "doc" is female PA, which means I can get 'well-woman checks' at regular docs vs. referral to specialists {YAY!}. She diagnosed me with a sinus infection, beginning bronchitis, etc. Prescribed Z-pak of Azithromycin, Flonase steroid nasal spray, Vituz Solution cough syrup {new-to-me, and NO GUIAFENSIN!! ;-) }, AND just for good measure, a steroid shot to my tuchis to symptomatically treat the congestion.
The pharmacy had to order the cough syrup, so went back today to get it - called work this morning & told them I wouldn't be in, achey in all joints - the cough syrup is pretty cool stuff - took 1 teaspon 1.5 hrs ago, and feeling pretty relaxed .................................. yeah, THIS will help me sleep. ;-)
Work is ................................... OK, I guess ...................................... kinda got put on the spot by someone I really like & respect, to the effect that I'm needed as a shift supervisor, whereas most anybody can do patrol. Ah, what the hell, it all pays the same - and if McDonald's burger flippers start getting $15.00/hr, I want to see MY pay double!! Slightly more responsibility being armed security than "would you like fries with that?" ;-)

As if Tuesday & Wednesday weren't "exciting" enough, tonight .......................
someone was hit by a 'beam' & knocked halfway down a 40 foot hole in the ground - don't know if he's one of our principal's employees or a contractor, just know that from 7:45 pm 'til 8:30 pm, the 3 of us security folks were kicking a$$ & taking names - we handled it damn well, if I do say so myself.
Please keep the unknown gentleman in your thoughts & prayers - EMS were prompt & ready to assist, got him to a good facility in a very timely manner, so, hopefully, there won't be any lingering damage.

Sooo, there's major maintenance going on at work ...............................
the company we provide security for manufactures some LARGE items, so the pieces to make them are correspondingly large. When they pull out the stops, as they have for this iteration, a lot of the work falls to outside contractors. These contractors do not exactly choose the cream of the crop, intellectually. In all honesty, I believe some seek out illegal aliens, so the contracting firms can give their bottom lines a major boost. Part of OUR job is to ensure that IDs are 1) valid and 2) acceptable from the standpoint of OUR principal's contracts with the U. S. government. Also, if one is driving, one must have a driver's license, NOT just a state ID - with a license, there is SOME expectation that the driver will have insurance, should anything happen on the campus {which is private property, BTW}
Sooo, yesterday, we had one rocket scientist & his passenger attempt to access the facility utilizing the driver's fishing license {the passenger had NO ID}- ummmm, NO, that is not acceptable. The driver argued that it was issued by the state, therefore valid - as compelling as his argument was, we stuck to our guns and refused him access, since we're kinda picky & would like to have a picture on the license.
This evening, we had two illegals who reside in other Southern states {which states issued them state IDs, NOT driver's licenses} attempt to drive on - one took off onto the campus, the other performed a U-turn & left. The one who rabbited the gate had claimed to be employed by "XYZ" Company. Patrol was notified, as was our manager, and various & sundry other personnel. Our manager returned to the campus, and commenced a search with Patrol. About 2 hours into this, a supervisor of "Blue Star" Company left, to return with BOTH individuals, and since the supervisor was driving, we had to allow them on. The one who asserted working for "XYZ" Company insisted we were wrong, that he'd stated he worked for the "Blue Star" Company.
Earlier, per our manager, I had called the Sheriff's Department, requesting a Deputy so we could file a criminal trespass complaint against the one who drove onto the campus after we'd told him no. I later cancelled the call, and 10-15 minutes later, not one but TWO Sheriff's vehicles, with a total of 4 Deputies, showed up.
Life can be ................................... interesting ................................. :-(

So, today is my birthday ..................................
Friday, a couple of co-workers surprised me with a new wallet/badge combo, a 32 SD card for my phone, a GORGEOUS cake {will try to get the pictures off my phone & posted here}, a gift card to Jason's Deli {GREAT food}, pink roses and a balloon - yesterday, the FodGuy presented me with a dual magazine holder for my 9 mm, and tonight, when we went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner, the couple behind me paid for our dinner!! {Don't know if they overheard it was my birthday, noticed the FodGuy's USMC ballcap, or just picked us at random for an act of kindness}
Feeling quite celebratory here .................................... ;-)

We're headed down to Kemah tomorrow ..............................
unsure of the actual geography, but I b'lieve it's a bit north of Galveston, for our anniversary {14 years, who'da thunk it? ;-) } - we're "doing" a murder mystery dinner cruise & spending the night there, IF we can find accommodations .....................................
We don't have NEAR the 'social life' we used to; b'tween the FodGuy working zero-dark-thirty 'til whenever, and my working 1300-'til relieved, our schedules don't allow for a lot, plus he works most weekends {when he put in for vacation for our anniversary, he was told, "B-b-b-but, it's end of the month/end of the quarter!" He politely informed that person that he'd BEEN working most every weekend for MONTHS, and the company had decided that 'managers' were NOT to be compensated for putting in 16-24 hours per weekend, over and above their 'regular' 44+ hours a week. The squawker kicked it up to the next level, who told the FodGuy, "Have a good time!" ;-)
I'm dealing with a pregnant Twitless Wonder, who tried to tell me that SHE was taking off the same time I was, so SHE had priority - ummmmm, NO, you do NOT, since I requested the time off BEFORE you even started working here; I've been here over a year, I've EARNED my time off, so I'll be paid for it, while TW will have a short check - sux to be her, I guess ;-) .
Hope all have a happy Thanksgiving; despite 'our' collective problems, this is STILL the best nation on earth - "we" have much for which to be thankful.

I know, I know, Old NFO is gonna try to turn me over his knee .........................
Work's been hectic, the "Brats" demanding - and WE have an anniversary coming up !!
Some random thoughts ............................. for folks who believe physics is waa-aa-aay beyond their cognitive functions .........................
Look at a ruler - 12 inches {in the U.S.}, correct? One inch is one twelfth {1/12} of the total. Alternatively, consider a child of, say, 5 years of age, and an adult of 50 years of age. For the child, 5 years is the extent of his/her awareness; for the adult, 5 years is one tenth {1/10} of their awareness. There you have the theory of relativity in a couple of nutshells ;-)
Also, the theory that two objects cannot exist in the same space, at the same time? Remember that next time you're in rush hour traffic - the jam ups occur because, more than likely, a couple of "motorists" decided THEY could both occupy the same space at the same time.
Just some 'thimking' while my blood sugar descends ............................. ;-)

Sooo, I'm working armed security for a company that has U. S. government
contracts, plus some proprietary "things" they want to keep proprietary. Seems it would be a no-brainer that all who desire access have appropriate ID, correct? Not so much ...............................
Today, we had the third, in as many weeks, of fake ID used to try to gain access - this one was GOOD, but for the little problems of no holograms, plus it was an expired ID - the young man ultimately admitted he'd bought it "somewhere".
Note to the criminal illegal alien contingent - it just might behoove you to ensure that your fake ID is, at the very least, CURRENT.
We have recently stopped asking people if they were citizens, because some grievance monger found it to be "insulting" - yeah, I know, right? So we now allow all & sundry with 'valid' ID access, whether it's "limited term" or some other variation that indicates, to anyone with 2 semi-functioning brain cells, that the holder is in the country under less-than-clear circumstances. It's frustrating as hell, but since 'we're' not the "deep pockets", the "deep pockets" dictate our authority.
Oh, and the 3 with fake IDs? We merely denied them access .................................

From my LtCol., .............................................
HERE'S a thought - I will put MY "mental stability" up against Feinstein's, et al, ANY day - with no 'victim points' for my having been physically/emotionally/psychologically/sexually abused as a child/adolescent .......................... think any of them would take me up on it? Me, neither ................................
Dianne Feinstein: "All vets are mentally ill in some way and government should prevent them from owning firearms"
Yep, - she really said it on Thursday in a meeting in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee, and the quote below from the LA Times is priceless. Sometimes even the L.A. Times gets it right.
Kurt Nimmo from the Los Angeles Times:
"Senator Feinstein insults all U.S. Veterans as she flays about in a vain attempt to save her anti-firearms bill." "Frankly, I don't know what it is about California, but we seem to have a strange urge to elect really obnoxious women to high office. I'm not bragging, you understand, but no other state, including Maine, even comes close. When it comes to sending left-wing dingbats to Washington, we're Number One. John Adams asking Mr. Thompson, the Secretary of the Congress, if Thompson supports Dickinson of Pennsylvania {no to revolution} or Adams - Thompson's response, as well as Abigail Adams' reminder that the only measure of a man is his commitment to a cause "Have you forgotten what you used to say to me, I haven't.
