Lest we forget what Memorial Day is all about ......................
Dammit. Crying again and it ain't even noon. Those brave guys make me embarassed that I had it so easy serving during eight years of peacetime. In my heart I was sure I could give everything for my shipmates, but those guys actually DID it.
Robert, my Spousal Unit likes Heinlein's idea - EVERYBODY who wants the right to vote serves an enlistment - at the end of that time, one has the vote; money for higher education; the RIGHT to be paid by taxpayers {as civil servants/law enforcement/fire fighters} - whether we're @ DefCon 1 or DefCon 5, what matters is YOU SERVED, and were there if your nation needed you ................... during my tour in the USMC, women weren't aboard ships or in combat zones - several guys in my squadron let their resentment be known - I just told'em, TELL CONGRESS - I was willing to go .....................
