I found her just over 3 years ago, in November, just before Thanksgiving - she was following her mom around, out in a cold drizzle. She was never what one would call a "healthy" cat, but she would improve, then get congested again, then improve. She'd been failing for about a week this time, just wanting to cuddle. I was holding her as she died today. As the FodGuy & our Progeny noted, she had a LOT more time, was always warm & fed, and KNEW she was loved - but it still hurts ...........................................

Sorry DM, but at least she died in your loving arms and in peace.
So sorry to hear that DM, what a big bummer! As MK said, at least she was in your loving arms when she died. My thoughts are with you all xx
Damndamndamn...it's always hard, DM. We both feel for you.
But you gave her a good life and that's all we can do.
Thank you all for your kind words - she was a little ray of sunshine, that's for sure - when I first brought her in, I would crate her overnight, because she was so timid {which she never overcame} & I didn't want the other cats intimidating her - when I'd get her out in the mornings, she'd practically JUMP into my arms, head-butting and talkinglike she had SO MUCH to tell me - only thing was, she didn't have a lot of "inflection" to her meows, so I kinda figured she was a feline savant, therefore, "RainGirl" .................. ;-)
Heh! Alfie does the head-butt thing too, and he can't miaow properly so he just squeaks. Very endearing. :)
